Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups ‏Sifted confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 cup ‏Butter
  • 1/2 cup ‏Margarine
  • 1 ‏Egg
  • 1 tsp. ‏Vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. ‏Almond Flavoring
  • 2 1/2 cups ‏Flour
  • 1 tsp. ‏Baking soda
  • 1 tsp. ‏Cream of Tartar
  1. Mix Sugar, butter and margarine.
  2. Add egg and flavorings; mix thoroughly.
  3. Measure flour by dipping method or by sifting. Stir dry ingredients together and blend in. refrigerate 2 to 3 hours.
  4. Heat oven to 375°. Divide dough in half and roll 3/16″ thick on lightly floured pastry cloth. Cut with cookie cutter; sprinkle with sugar.
  5. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until delicately golden
  6. Frost with tinted icing (powdered sugar mixed with milk)
