Chicken Noodle Soup

One chicken – whole or in parts. Put in pot and add 1 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp pepper, cover with water and boil until tender. Remove and add 2 carrots diced, 2 or 3 stalks of celery cut up, 1/2 small onion diced, and 2 or 3 chicken bullion cubes. Boil about 10 minutes. Add 1 can chicken broth, and a dash of seasoning salt. Add 2 cups uncooked thin noodles and boil until tender. Remvoe chicken from bones, cut into smaller pieces, and return to the pan. Continue to cook until headed through. Chicken breast may be substituted, but not as flavorful.
Northern Bean Soup

Soak beans as stated on package. Put beans and ham bone in soup pot. Cover. Boil with chopped onion and carrot. Add seasoning salt. Taste before adding salt and pepper. Cook till meat comes off the bone. Finish cooking till beans are done. Dice meat.
Taco Soup

Do not drain juice from any cans. Combine all ingredients in large stock pot. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer about 30-45 minutes. Serve with taco chips and shredded cheese.
Confetti Fruit Salad

In medium bowl, combine all ingredients, toss gently. Refrigerate until serving time.
Chicken Wings

Deep fry wings. Place in Tupperware container, pour sauce over them, seal and shake. Experiment with the sauce. I like to use Gate’s Barbecue Sauce, but it can work with just about anything, like teriyaki sauce, wing sauces (there is like half an aisle of them at the grocery store), or mixtures of lots of different stuff. Serve with ranch or bleu cheese dressing.
Note:
This “recipe” represents well how I thought about cooking when this cookbook was first written in my new-ish note really adult days. But I put it here for posterity. If I made wings now, I’d be looking more at wanting to smoke them until they’re almost done, then air fry or deep fry, and toss with sauce. If I’m going BBQ sauce it would certainly be my own and this rub wouldn’t be too shabby to toss it with, either.
Baked Gouda

Unwrap gouda cheese and remove wax cover. Use entire package of crescent rolls to fully encase the gouda cheese, pinching seams together so that no cheese is showing. Bake in a preheated oven according to crescent rolls direction until rolls are golden brown. Gouda should not “leak” from the cover. Pour jalapeno jelly all over the top and serve with crackers.
Shrimp Mold

Melt cream cheese in soup. Ad gelatin, celery, mayo, onion, shrimp, and salat and pepper. Pour into oiled ring mold or bundt pan. Refrigerate overnight. Good served with Triskets.
Cheese Dip

Mix all ingredients in crock pot on low. Simmer for approximately four hours, stirring every 1/2 hour. Serve with tortilla chips.
